| ExR contributed $2,000 to support the 501c corporation established by the Athens Area Chamber of Commerce for the benefit of the Athens-based U.S. Navy Supply Corps School (NCSC). The Chamber's NSCS Task Force is working to ensure that the NSCS remains a part of the Athens community in the wake of the Department of Defense's 2004-2005 review for closure of military bases throughout the country. The NSCS, part of the Athens scene since the 1950s, provides basic and advanced training in supply, transportation, maintenance, and other logistics services for the Department of Defense and international personnel. |
