Laboratory Data Records Reviews
As representatives of the owner/operator of a site, or as independent auditors, we audit analytical laboratories. We examine general quality measures or perform laboratory data records reviews using U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, U.S. Department of Energy, and other quality guidelines.
Our tasks include
We specialize in examining records of analyses known for their potential for false positive results. False positives may occur because of uncertainties in the methods or interference from other constituents present in complex environmental samples. False positive results can be very costly to the regulated community.
- Observing the analytical laboratory's quality assurance and quality control practices on all levels, from sample receipt and extraction to the final data report
- Reviewing the laboratory's standard operating procedures
- Checking the laboratory's reporting of data qualifiers for thoroughness, accuracy, adherence to guidelines, and rigorousness
If we detect any problems with laboratory management and practice, we make recommendations for improvement, and plan follow-up actions, all during a one-time, cost-effective visit.
